  Jan Shima Bio 

Jan worked as an entertainer in Los Angeles, Japan, and Hawaii and toured internationally. She performed on the Navatek Cruise, with SaFire, Jubilation, and other Bands, and worked with New Hope Fellowship Vocal team. Along with extensive studio work for others, Jan’s recordings includes 3 CD’s nominated for NaHokuHanoHano Awards and 3 nominations for Hawaii Music Awards. Her latest CD "Light to Soar" was written, arranged produced, designed, and recorded by Jan. It's a fusion of Jazz and World, from Latin to African, inspired by the wild beauty of nature and the National Parks of America. Her CD “Who Is To Come” was written, produced, vocal arrangements, and cover designed by Jan. Who Is To Come was one of the top Gospel CD’s in Hawaii, and received national airplay. On PowerPraise Hawaii with songs by Orlando Tumacder, she produced, arranged, and designed the cover. Jan worked with OnTheRock Recording Studio and currently works at her own studio producing & arranging CD’s and demos for Songwriters and students. Her Instruments are Vocals, Violin, Guitar, Piano, Ukulele. She taught Music workshops in Japan, Taiwan, S. Africa, Hawaii, and currently teaches at her studio. As a popular radio personality with KAIM 95.5FM, she hosted programs including Voice of the Islands, Youth Alive, and Saturday Nights. Educated in music and dance since age 6, she has a BFA from the University of Michigan, and a Masters Certificate in Writing and Producing from Berklee College of Music, Boston. Download MP3s:
